On July 20, the photographic exhibition "Mapuche: Indigenous People On The Move" opens at the Wereldmuseum in Leiden. The exhibition combines photographs from the Wereldmuseum's collection with performances, family photographs, and works on loan from other institutions. Mapuche: "A People in Motion" will be open to the public from July 21 until July 25, 2025.

The exhibition was made possible thanks to the collaboration between the Wereldmuseum in Leiden and the Mapuche - FOLIL foundation of the Netherlands.

"We are very pleased that, thanks to the collaboration with FOLIL, the stories of the Mapuche people in Europe can find a place in our museum," says Valeria Posada Villada, photography curator of the Wereldmuseum Leiden. "We believe this exhibition is a good starting point to strengthen our relationship with the world's indigenous peoples and for the museum to become a stimulus for social dialogue and solidarity."
